GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - In Brown County, the town of Pittsfield had the highest voter turnout of any municipality on Election Day.
That earned them the "Project VOTE," Voter Challenge trophy Thursday. More than 92 percent of registered voters in Pittsfield went to the polls
"This is the second time within two years that I believe we have gotten the trophy; I think it is an indicator of the civic responsibility that our citizens show. That they do step out to vote, and they take that responsibility seriously," said town chairman Keith Deneys.
Pittsfield previously won the honor for the fall 2010 elections.
The town of Lawrence, with a turnout of 90.52 percent, and the village of Suamico, with a turnout of 88.14 percent, rounded out the top three municipalities in the voter challenge.
Overall, 88.6 percent of registered Brown County voters went to the polls last week.
