The Marquette Golden Eagles struggled at the Bradley Center Tuesday night but held off Southeast Louisiana 64-53. The Lions were hammered by the Wisconsin Badgers by 40 on the weekend but Marquette had trouble knocking down outside shots. They turned to their big men. Davante Gardner scored 18 points and Chris Otule added 10 with nearly all of the points coming in the paint. While the Golden Eagles (2-0) were cold, they'll warm up as they head to the Maui Invitational in Hawaii this weekend to face Butler on Monday.
