SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - A woman accused of killing her baby in Sheboygan 55 years ago has rejected a plea deal.
76-year-old Ruby Klokow is charged with second-degree murder in the killing of seven-month-old Jeaneen Klokow in 1957. Her attorney said he was talking with prosecutors about a plea bargain, but Klokow said no – and a week-long trial is now set for February 18th through 22nd.
Sheboygan County District Attorney Joe DeCecco said he could not describe what the plea deal would have involved – but he’s disappointed that the case is continuing.
Klokow was charged after her son James went to police in 2008 with graphic stories of child abuse. The defendant remains free on a $10,000 bond.
