MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) - Menasha police are investigating after trees in Jefferson Park were illegally cut down over the weekend.

Police say two of the three blue spruce trees were around 8 feet tal and worth up to $2,000 each. The third tree was about 4 feet tall.

The vandalized trees are on a terrace on the far western side of Jefferson Park. Menasha Parks Superintendent Vince Maas says the blue spruce's were planted at least 5 to 6 years ago.

Earlier this spring, Mass says the trees were illegally pruned. Then this past weekend, two of the three trees were cut down to around 2 feet above the ground, while the third was cut in half.

Menasha police are asking anyone with information to call the police department.
