It was a frustrating start for the Green Bay Bullfrogs. The Frogs opened the Northwoods League season Wednesday night hosting the expansion Lakeshore Chinooks before over 1100 fans at Joannes Stadium. Starting pitcher Zak Hermans was terrific. The Princeton junior allowed just one hit through six scoreless innings. Green Bay took a 1-0 lead on a Nick Stein sacrifice fly but it could have been more. A bases loaded double play ended the inning. It stayed 1-0 until the 9th when with runners on first and second, Steve Wilcox delivered a two out, two strike single to left that tied the game. The eventual winning run was scored in the top of the 11th with a hit batsman with the bases loaded. The Bullfrogs and Chinooks play again Thursday night at 6:35 PM at Joannes.
