WAUSAU, WI (WTAQ) - A man who admitted he stole more than $78,000 worth of merchandise from several Wal-Mart stores has been sentenced to 21 months in prison.
42 year old Robert Morgan was trying to sell the stolen items online using his sister’s eBay account.
Morgan admitted stealing items from Wal-Mart stores in Marshfield, Plover, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids between May 2009 and June 2010.
He asked the federal judge for a minimal sentence, but was rejected. The judge pointed to 6 prior convictions and the high dollar amount of goods taken when he called Morgan a “lifelong thief.”
