RIVER FALLS, WI (WTAQ) - A lightning strike caused a damaging fire at a luxurious home near Hudson Saturday morning.

The River Falls Fire Department was called to a house fire in the 200 block of South Agnes Parkway in Troy Township a little before 11:30 a.m.

Witnesses told 911 operators a lightning bolt had knocked a big hole in the roof of the million dollar home and smoke and flames were coming out of that hole.

Fire units from Hudson, Prescott and Roberts joined River Falls firefighters.

High winds fed the flames and another half-dozen units joined the effort. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
