ST. CLOUD (WTAQ) - Three Fond du Lac County men are okay, after they spent the night in the Sheboygan Marsh.
The men left Thursday morning in a kayak and skiff on the Sheboygan River near St. Cloud. As they were heading to the marsh, sheriff’s deputies said the men missed a turn – and they got lost in the Four Corners area of the marsh.
When it was getting dark, they decided to use the boats for shelter. They spent the night in the marsh, and decided to wait until Friday morning to look for a way out.
In the meantime, the three were reported missing. And rescuers from several agencies were called out around 5:30 a.m. Fridayy.
The three had boated to St. Cloud, where rescuers found them around 7 a.m. The men are 31, 32, and 40 years old. And officials said they had made the Sheboygan Marsh trip many times.
