The Milwaukee Brewers saved face against the San Francisco Giants, salvaging the final game of the series and the homestand, avoiding a sweep with an 8-5 victory at Miller Park.  The fun came early as Milwaukee broke loose with six runs in the first inning against Barry Zito, capped by starting pitcher Marco Estrada's two run double.   Even when things are going good for the Brewers of late, they go bad as Estrada had to leave the game, straining his left hip flexor while running the bases. His status will be evaluated today.   Jonathan Lucroy continued his torrid pace by launching a two run home run in the second inning, his fifth of the year, giving him 29 runs batted in, making it 8-0 Brewers.  The overworked bullpen gave up three runs in the third with Manny Parra allowing four hits and Kameron Loe was charged with two runs in the 4th but San Francisco got no closer.  Aramis Ramirez delivered a three run double in the big first inning. Juan Veras picked up the win in relief to go to 3-1 and John Axford picked up his seventh save, the first in three weeks by striking out two in the ninth.  Milwaukee (18-26) has an off day Thursday before hitting the road for a weekend series in Arizona.

The Brewers have added a veteran infielder to the roster, signing Cody Ransom off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.   Edwin Maysonet, who hit a memorable grand slam for the Crew earlier this month, was optioned to Triple A Nashville to make room for Ransom.  The Brewers also moved Alex Gonzalez from the 15 day to the 60 day disabled list.  Gonlazez was lost for the year with season ending knee surgery.
