MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The Milwaukee Brewers become the first big league team to cross the plate against Twins rookie Scott Diamond, but it wasn’t enough.

Minnesota got three hits and RBIs from Joe Mauer, a homer from Josh Willingham and 4 hits and 3 runs batted in from Denard Span in an 11-3 rout of the Brewers Friday.

It was the first interleague game for both teams.

Diamond hadn’t allowed a run in his first 14 innings of big league pitching until Milwaukee scored in the 1st. Diamond wound up giving up 3 runs in five-and-a-third innings, but he picked up his 3rd win in three decisions.

Corey Hart had a single and a double, while Norichika Aoki pounded a single and a double and drove in a run. Ryan Braun had a home run for the Brewers.

Starter Marco Estrada took the loss for the Brewers, surrendering 4 runs in 5 innings.
