CHILTON, WI (WTAQ) - One of the men charged in a murder case has agreed to a plea deal.
35-year-old James Loewe entered a no contest plea to first-degree reckless homicide in Calumet County court Wednesday.
Authorities say Loewe and Robert Saurbeir beat Joseph Baer to death on a farm in Rantoul last year.
As part of Loewe's plea deal, a charge of theft from a financial institution and bail jumping were dismissed.
Loewe faces up to 40 years in prison and 20 years extended supervision when he is sentenced. That hearing has yet to be scheduled.
Saurbeir's sentencing is set for June 13.
