Ryan Murphy has achieved a rare feat: Soon he'll have three TV shows, each on separate networks. In the fall Glee will begin its fourth season and American Horror Story will return for a second season, and NBC just announced that it's picking up Murphy's new series The New Normal.

The half-hour comedy from Murphy and co-executive producer Allison Adler focuses on a gay couple, a surrogate mother, and their children. While Murphy has addressed issues surrounding homosexuality on Glee, the similarities end there. While Murphy's previous shows, including Popular and Nip/Tuck has often had comedic moments, this is the first time he's tried his hand at straight humor (or not so straight humor, as the case may be).
