APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - A homeless man charged with third-degree sexual assault has pled no contest.

Investigators say Jeremy McCabe was homeless in 2010 when he got permission to stay at a Grand Chute woman's home. McCabe then tried to sexually assault and strangle the woman's 5-year-old daughter.

As part of the plea dea, a strangulation charge was dropped.

McCabe will be sentenced May 11.
