HOWARD, WI (WTAQ)-Firefighters are investigating a large brush fire that broke out Tuesday evening in Howard, prompting the closure of Interstate 43 for a short time. The fire burned for about 45 minutes before firefighters were able to put it out, dark smoke drifing across the busy highway. No one was hurt. Authorities say the recent run of warm, dry weather signals an early start to brush fire season.
