The former Cheers star's career has been given a big boost following her appearance on U.S. reality TV show Dancing With the Stars last year (11) and she has now been given the opportunity to make her theatre debut in the U.K. capital.

Alley, 61, has yet to reveal the title of the stage show, but she admits she will only be able to take on the job if she can hurry up and complete her upcoming book about embracing life in her 60s.

In a Twitter.com post on Thursday (15Mar12), she writes, ""I'm off to the BOOK race... just got offered my DREAM play in London... gotta write fast!!!""
