OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - Oshkosh police say damage done by vandals to Calvary Cemetery is in the thousands of dollars.
That cemetery has been hit twice in two weeks.
The crooks have knocked down grave markers, smashed statues and planters and tosses wreaths around the grounds.
Six grave stones were pushed over the first time, then double that this last time.
Gravestones are considered to be private property and are generally covered by insurance, but it’s often hard to find survivors. Then, it’s up to the cemetery to pay to cover the damages.
