OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - After more than a year of construction, a major highway interchange in Oshkosh has reopened.
Officials with the Department of Transportation say the Highway 45 interchange with Highway 41 is now open.
In April 2011, the interchange was closed to make way for the $31 million project to build free-flow ramps between the highways and to rebuild the Highway 45 to pass over Highway 41.
The interchange handles as many as 18,000 vehicles per day.
One mile of northbound Highway 41 between Lake Butte des Morts and Snell Road has also reopened.
It's part of the Highway 41 improvement project, which involves rebuilding 17 miles of the highway in Winnebago County.
