LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ) - La Crosse police say Peter J. Solberg wandered through a Walmart, taking clothes, sampling groceries and fondling customers. They say he drank from a bottle of chilled wine and grabbed a woman’s buttocks before leaving the store. Officers say Solberg denied being in Walmart until one of them pointed out the price tag from the store on his shorts. The 40 year old La Crosse man now faces charges of theft, sexual assault, disorderly conduct and bail jumping, all misdemeanors. Security officers in the store say they gave him several chances to pay for the items he took, but he refused to talk to them.
