OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - A standoff in Oshkosh ended peacefully after the suspect gave himself up after nearly three hours Sunday night. Police say a 48-year-old man living at 1003 Adams Street fired a shotgun inside the home shortly before 5:41 p.m. when the call came in. Investigators say the man fired two shots. One of the slugs was found inside the home and the other exited the home. Neither the second slug nor any damage was found outside the home. The neighborhood was blocked off until around 9:30 p.m. when the man came out. The man was taken into custody and admitted to the Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh on an emergency metal health exam. Upon his release, the man will be booked into the Winnebago County Jail for Disorderly Conduct and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safely. Police are asking for anyone who finds damage on their property to contact them.
