MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The San Diego Padres won for just the sixth time on the road this season with a 5-2 win at Miller Park Saturday.
One of the worst hitting teams in the major pounded out 13 hits while pushing the Brewers to five games below .500.
A two-run single by catcher John Baker in the 6th broke a 2-2 tie and put San Diego up to stay.
Mike Fiers took the loss in only his third start of the season for Milwaukee. Six pitchers held the Brewers to 2 runs on 8 hits. Rickie Weeks and Martin Maldonado drove in the Brewer runs.
Ross Ohlendorf picked up the win in relief for San Diego, throwing four and a third innings and allowing just one run. Huston Street notched save number 5.
The two teams meet in the rubber game of the series Sunday afternoon with Yovani Gallardo on the mound for the Brewers. Anthony Bass goes for San Diego. Pregame on 97.5/1360 News Talk WTAQ begins at 12:35 p.m., first pitch at 1:10 p.m.
