GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The U.S. Coast Guard made three rescues on the Great Lakes Saturday, but all six people who wound up in the water were wearing life jackets and no one was injured.
The rescue operation on Green Bay came after a small sailboat capsized Saturday afternoon. The Coast Guard was called at 4 p.m. when another boater saw the accident.
Authorities said a man wearing a life jacket was in the water a couple miles east of the mouth of the Fox River. The Coast Guard helped get his sailboat upright and the man was able to sail away.
Other Coast Guard operations were in Buffalo, New York, and Detroit, Michigan.
