GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Packers linebacker Erik Walden has been suspended for the season opener for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.
The NFL handing down a one game suspension stemming from Walden’s arrest and eventual disorderly conduct charge.
Last Thanksgiving, Walden allegedly pushed his live-in girlfriend to the ground during an argument where she got a bump on her head and sought medical attention.
He was arrested for suspected domestic battery. Months later the charge was dropped to disorderly conduct after his girlfriend said he was only defending himself when she went after him.
Walden pleaded no contest to the charge.
