If you grew up in the '90s, chances are you've jammed out to one or two Mandy Moore songs in front of your bedroom mirror (don't be ashamed, we've all been there). So those same people should be interested to learn that the singer will once again be gracing the airwaves with a brand new album, which she plans to release by the end of this year. But she won't be working alone on these tracks in fact, Moore recently shared with CBSNews.com that she'll be collaborating with her husband Ryan Adams on the project.
""I'm probably going to work with my husband on this album,"" she said. ""I'm not sure necessarily in what capacity, but we've been writing a little bit together. He has a studio, so I definitely want to make my record there."" But if you're expecting the usually pop quality Moore was so famous for, you might be very disappointed. The singer/actress, who married Adams in 2009, also said that her husband has introduced her to an entirely new brand of music.
""There's tremendous influence right now around the house from the music I've been introduced to and being very happy and in a healthy, happy relationship,"" she said. ""I think that still garners a lot of material to write about."" Moore added that in the three years since she released her last album Amanda Leigh, ""a lot"" has happened in her life, which will also serve as inspiration for her new musical numbers, calling them both ""intense"" and ""emotional.""
Of course, many of Moore's songs have carried significant emotional weight with them in the past, especially in the Nicholas Sparks' book-turned-movie A Walk to Remember. But even then, her sweet demeanor and whispery voice always gave her songs pop-like quality, which would be undoubtedly missed if she decides to completely switch up her sound. Granted, there's nothing wrong with a little change, but let's not lose the peppy portrayal that made her Billboard worthy in the first place. Old school Mandy Moore is not something to be trifled with.
Come on, tell me you wouldn't miss this:
