HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) - A Howard man who pleaded no contest to charges involving shooting his dog for urinating in his apartment has been given two years probation and must serve 100 hours working with animals. 35-year-old Nevin Cain was sentenced Wednesday to 45 days in jail, but he has already served two thirds of that. The criminal complaint says Cain was drunk when he shot his dog Missy in the neck. She was a one and half year-old hound mix. He then fired seven more rounds as it ran away. The dog was put up for adoption after have surgery.
