MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The acting head of the state DNR’s west central Wisconsin region has been given the job permanently.
Dan Baumann was named the agency’s new regional manager Tuesday by department Secretary Cathy Stepp. Baumann has been filling in for Scott Humrickhouse, who retired earlier this year.
Baumann’s a 19-year DNR veteran. He joined the agency in 1992 as an engineering interim, and has been a basin leader and a regional water official.
Baumann now becomes the DNR’s leader in a 19-county territory roughly bounded by Hudson, Wausau, Wisconsin Dells, and La Crosse.
