GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Bail was set at $50,000 cash for a man accused of stealing a Dodge Viper and leading authorities on a high speed chase over the weekend. 25-year-old Kyle Buckles was charged in Brown County with felony fleeing resulting in great bodily harm, obstruction or resisting arrest, and theft for not paying a motel bill back in June. Oconto County Sheriff’s responded to a hit and run accident on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. The black Viper led authorities through Oconto and into Brown Countries along U.S. Highway 41. The chase caused a Brown County Sheriff’s squad car to fish tail and collide with a Milwaukee woman’s car causing injury. Michele Lecker was hospitalized and her conditon was updated Tuesday from critical to serious condition. Sheriff John Gossage says the Viper crossed the stop sticks that are designed to deflate the tires of a car, but the high performance car had run flat tires. The Wisconsin State Patrol is reviewing the actions of the Brown County Sheriff’s that led to the woman being hurt. More charges will be expected to be filed in Oconto County.
