It wasn't a walk off win, it was a run off victory for the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Carlos Gomez, pinch running in the bottom of the ninth after a leadoff walk to Aramis Ramirez, stole second base. The catcher's throw rolled into centerfield and Gomez broke for third. That throw glanced off a sliding Gomez into the dugout and Carlos was able to stroll home for the 2-1 victory. The Brewers scored first, Norichika Aoki, who had two of the four Milwaukee hits, came home on a Nyjer Morgan groundout in the fourth inning. Yovani Gallardo kept the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard, working six and two third shutout innings, allowing only three hits but he walked five. After he loaded the bases in the 7th, Jose Veras got out of the jam to preserve the 1-0 lead. Francisco Rodriguez however, served up a Jason Kubel solo home run in the 8th which set the stage for the Gomez heroics. John Axford (2-5) got the win in relief. The Brewers captured the series two games to one and will welcome the Miami Marlins to Miller Park for a four game series beginning Monday night with Zack Greinke (9-2) facing ex-Cub Carlos Zambrano.
