The One Tree Hill star becomes a 30-something on 8 July (12), and she has asked fans to give cash to Pencils of Promise, which helps education facilities in the developing world, on her behalf in lieu of gifts.

Bush has set up an online donation page for her family, friends and fans.

She writes, ""I'm turning 30 July 8th. I'm stoked. I'm ready. And I want it to mean something. Something big. Help me raise $30k for my 30th Birthday! All funds will go to Pencils of Promise to build a brand new school in Guatemala, and to change the lives of some seriously deserving kids.
