UNDATED (WSAU) Not all democrats agree on who would be the best recall opponent to run against Scott Walker this summer.
Yesterday former Dane County executive Kathleen Falk announced that she will run. She has the support of many state labor groups, and is expected to get a formal endorsement from a coalition of unions in the state in the near future.
Some union leaders have urged others to stay out of the race – including Milwaukee’s mayor Tom Barrett.
But former Wausau congressman David Obey says it’s Barrett, or retiring Senator Herb Kohl, who have the best chance of defeating Walker. Kohl has said he’s not running. Barrett is undecided. Obey says he would run if Barrett and Kohl don’t.
State Senator Tim Cullen has also said he will run. There would be a democratic primary in the spring if the party can’t agree on a candidate.
