DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) - The De Pere City Council is putting a controversial new parking ordinance in reverse. Around 75 people filled the small council chambers Tuesday night to complain about the city’s new requirement that anyone in the down town parking for over two hours to but an annual $120 permit for long-term parking. Many residents said this adds to their cost of living in the downtown, while business owners said this discourages them from pushing their customers into checking out other downtown businesses. After around two hours of testimony, the city council unanimously voted to put the repeal of the ordinance on their next agenda.
