RHINELANDER, WI (WTAQ) - The Oneida County medical examiner was freed on a signature bond this afternoon, after being suspected of stealing a body part during an autopsy. 44-year-old Traci England of Rhinelander made a court appearance in a video conference. Sheriff’s deputies in both Oneida and Forest counties say they’re still investigating – and no charges have been filed. England is a medical examiner for both counties. A report from WJFW-TV in Rhinelander said England was being investigated for taking part of a dead person’s spine during an autopsy this week – and she told authorities she wanted to use it for train her dog to search for human remains. England was arrested on possible charges of theft and misconduct in public office. She has been placed on administrative leave for now.
