GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt is pushing the state legislature to step up to ensure cleaner campaigns. Recenlty a staff member brought attention to a website lambasting Alderman Guy Zima, which was full of untrue personal attacks. Schmitt says his proposal would be faster resource in dealing with false personal attacks.He is asking the state legislature to allow a local judge to force the removal of a false attack within 24 hours. Schmitt says personal attacks inhibit others from running for elected office.
