HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The effects of last Thursday’s spike of gas prices along the Lakeshore are waning as this holiday weekend winds down. An overnight survey of Holland area stations showed a per-gallon average of $3.40, just three pennies above the last poll taken just before Christmas, and around nine cents below what was generally seen in this area before New Year’s Eve. The mark is also 13 cents more than what motorists were paying as 2011 began. Triple-A’s daily canvassing had marks of $3.28 nationally and $3.42 statewide.
