MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Two Democrats each have about $25,000 in the bank, as they get ready to run in the expected recall election against Governor Scott Walker.
Those are miniscule, compared to the $12 million the Republican Walker has raised over the last year. But outside groups are expected to pump millions into the Democratic race – and the same is expected for Walker as well.
For now, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk had just under $26,000 on hand at the start of the year, before she announced her candidacy.
State Senate Democrat Tim Cullen of Janesville raised around $11,000 last year, and has just over $26,000 on hand.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has not said whether he’ll run in the Democratic recall primary. He did not file a campaign report Tuesday like Falk and Cullen did. But last summer, Barrett had about $372,000 on hand.
