Flags ordered to half-staff Saturday for Mortensen, Sebena

MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  Flags will be flown at half-staff Saturday, December 29th in Wisconsin from sunrise to sunset. Governor Scott Walker has ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin be lowered as a mark of respect for Fire Chief Philip Mortensen of the Brooklyn Area Fire and EMS Protection District and for Officer Jennifer Sebena of the Wauwatosa Police Department.

The 67-year-old Mortensen died suddenly last Saturday of suspected heart failure. He had served as the village’s fire chief for nearly four decades. The 30-year-old Sebena was murdered while on duty Christmas Eve in Wauwatosa outside the fire station.
