UNDATED (WSAU) A deer from Adams County tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. It's the first time CWD has shown up there. It's a concern that the deer-wasting disease is spreading further north.
A bow hunter killed the infected deer on November 7th near the Petenwell Flowage, south of Lake Arrowhead. That's about 40-miles north of the closest CWD case in the wild. There was an infected deer on a game farm about 25-miles away in Buckhorn Flats.
The DNR will now decide whether to expand the CWD management zone.
