The Green Bay Phoenix women dropped a 54-50 decision to Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant Wednesday afternoon. Green Bay led 26-18 at the half but the home team Chippewas got hot after intermission while the Phoenix cooled off. CMU hit 52 percent of their shots in the second half, including six of ten from beyond the three point line. Crystal Bradford did most of the damage for Central, scoring a game high 23 points. Adrian Ritchie topped Green Bay with 20, Stephanie Sension added 8, Lydia Bauer, Sarah Eichler and Megan Luken all scored 7. The Phoenix hit just 31 percent of their shots from the floor and also struggled again at the free throw line, going 8 for 15. Green Bay had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds but Eichler missed a contested put back shot. The Phoenix (5-2) finish up the road swing Saturday against in state rival Marquette in Milwaukee.
