WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Waupaca have arrested two suspects thought to be involved in a series of burglaries and thefts county-wide.

Authorities were called around 3 a.m. Friday to Nelson's Strike Zone at 400 Oak Street for a report of a possible burglary. Upon arrival, cops saw someone leaving the bar. They chased after the man and arrested him.

He's been identified as 27-year-old Andrew P. Akright of Manawa. Akright was armed with a 9 mm handgun. Police believe Akright broke in to the bar and then broke in to gaming machines.

Akright is also suspected in connection with burglaries of Club 22 and Courtside Bar in Waupaca.

Several hours later, police arrested 23-year-old Wesley A. Martin at his home.

Police believe both men are responsible for several burglaries, although neither man has been formally charged in court.
