An unlikely hero helped the ace as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs for a second straight night at Wrigley field Tuesday 4-1. Backup shortstop Jeff Bianchi launched a three run homer, the first of his big league career, off Travis Wood in the second inning. Wood took out his frustration by launching a solo home run against Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo in the third. It would be the only run allowed by Gallardo as he worked seven innings, striking out 9 to record his 14th win of the season. It was his major league leading 22nd quality start. The Brewers tacked on another run in the 7th and John Axford finished off the ninth for his 21st save. Milwaukee (61-67) will send Mike Fiers to the mound in game three of the series Wednesday night.
