SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ) - Brown County Sheriff's officials say a Manitowoc man died of a heart attack after competing in a mountain bike race this weekend.

38-year-old Robert Schuette of Manitowoc was cycling up a steep hill during the race at the Brown County Reforestation Camp.

That's when officials say Schuette got off his bike and told a nurse he couldn't breathe. Schuette was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

More than 600 competitors took part in the 12-mile race.
