ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) - A bicyclist was hospitalized Friday afternoon after being hit by a car going the wrong direction. 

The collision happened at the intersection of Ashland Ave. and Hansen Rd. in Ashwaubenon around 2:30 p.m. 

Ashwaubenon Public Safety says witnesses say the car was southbound on Ashland crossed the median and continued traveling southbound in the northbound lane. 

The bicyclist was waiting to cross the intersection at Hansen when the car swerved and hit the bike and rider. 

The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
