FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - For the first time Tuesday, a Campbellsport teen charged with accidentally shooting a 7-year-old girl with an arrow appeared in adult court.

16-year-old Casey Bennett is charged with second-degree reckless injury and resisting or obstructing an officer. The judge set a $50,000 signature bond for Bennett.

Authorities say Bennett told them he was shooting at squirrels in May, when an arrow hit Aryanna Schneeberg in the back. Schneeberg was playing outside her home. She survived the incident.

Because of Bennett's age, the case first started in juvenile court. But a judge granted prosecutors' request to move the case to adult court.

He is due back in court September 21.
