STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A scuba diver's body found about 225 feet below the surface of Whitefish Bay over the weekend has been identified. 

The body is believed to be that of 52-year-old Dirk Kann of Guttenberg, Iowa. 

An autopsy is being preformed in Green Bay.  

While coming up from a deep dive in September of 1999, Kann had complications during decompression in the water.

Kann and friends were exploring the 1924 sunken shipwreck known as the Lakeland, a passenger and package steamer.
