GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Members of the Green Bay Redevelopment Authority awarded a contract for the design of the KI Convention Center expansion Tuesday.
South Carolina-based firm Betsch & Associates will design the addition which will go on the west side of the building, according to RDA chairman Harry Maier. Betsch & Associates also designed the downtown convention center.
Construction may begin in late spring or early summer of 2013.
The project is expected to cost about $19.5 million, according to city community development director Rob Strong. About $12 million will come from a current surplus in the room tax fund, plus several other sources to be finalized.
