Milwaukee ran hot and cold on the opening weekend of the Major League season, dropping the rubber game of the weekend set with the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals 9-3 on Easter Sunday. After getting roughed up 11-5 on opening day, Zack Greinke delivered a gem in Saturday's 6-0 victory but in the series, finale, the Cards scratched across single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings to build a 3-0 lead. Corey Hart connected on his third home run in two days to cut into the lead but Milwaukee could get anything going against St. Louis right hander Lance Lynn. He pitched six and two thirds innings and allowed just the one run on two hits. Randy Wolf took the loss giving up 9 hits and three runs in five innings of work. The bullpen sputtered as St. Louis tacked on 6 more runs over the final three frames including a two run homer from Carlos Beltran. Ryan Braun hit his first home run of the year, a solo shot in the 9th. The Brewers (1-2) now hit the road for the first time this year, a four game series against the rival Cubs at Wrigley Field beginning Monday night.
