Sunday night is a big awards show night across North America.  In Canada, it's the Juno Awards, which are the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys, while in the U.S., it's the Academy of Country Music Awards, airing live from Las Vegas on CBS.

At the Juno Awards, Nickelback, Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber and Drake are among the nominees.  Nickelback have a leading four nods, including Album of the Year for Here and Now, and Single of the Year for "When We Stand Together."  The band will also perform on the show.

Avril is up for Album of the Year as well, for G oodbye Lullaby, while Drake and Justin have also earned nods in that category for, respectively, Take Care and Under the Mistletoe.  Michael Buble is among this year's top nominees , with three nods, but he won't actually be attending; neither will Justin, for that matter.

Justin, Avril, Drake and Nickelback are also up for the Juno Fan Choice Award.  In the International Album of the Year category, Adele's 21 will compete against Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto, Lady Gaga's Born This Way , Rihanna's Loud and LMFAO's Sorry for Party Rocking.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift, the Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, The Voice coach Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson , among others, will all be competing for trophies at the Academy of Country Awards show Sunday night.  Among the performers is Train's Pat Monahan, who'll be duetting with Martina McBride on Train's song "Marry Me" as an actual couple gets married onstage, live.

Taylor Swift will have a special man on her arm as her date for the event: eighteen-year-old Kevin McGuire , who's been battling leukemia and is now in remission.  He initially reached out to Taylor online to invite her to his prom; instead, Taylor responded with an invite to be her escort to the ACMs.
