Update: It took a little while, but The Voice producer Mark Burnett has finally addressed the rumor that Christina Aguilera will be fired from the show before the third season begins filming. He told E! Online, ""Christina is absolutely staying. She is not going anywhere, 100 percent."" He continued: ""It's ridiculous,"" he said, referring to the rumor. ""You know what it is? Nervous other shows. So you know what I say [to that]? 'Good try!'""
Earlier: Even though NBC revealed in June that all four judges from The Voice had agreed to stick around for the show's second season, x17 reports that producers plan to replace Christina Aguilera before the third season is shot. A source explained why showrunners have the urge to relieve Grammy-winning singer of her coach duties, saying ""She doesn't spend time with her contestants like she's supposed to. She doesn't participate. She spends most of her time on the set with her boyfriend."" Additionally (though this was unconfirmed), she's also drinking on the set much more than Adam Levine or Blake Shelton, who are known for taking shots during filming ""to loosen up."" Although a representative for the show has publicly denied that there are any such plans to let Aguilera go, alcohol has certainly caused other problems for her in the past: in March, she was arrested for public intoxication, and some speculate that the reason why she goofed up the lyrics to the National Anthem while she was singing at this year's Super Bowl was because she had been drinking. And even though it seems like nothing's going to happen for now, it's not as if producers have never taken action earlier than they said they would because they were pushed to their wits' end.
