UNDATED (WSAU) Wisconsin will recognize concealed weapon permits from 25 states, Puerto Rico, and the U-S Virgin Islands. Those folks will be able to carry hidden weapons in Wisconsin starting November first, when the concealed carry law takes effect in the Badger State.
Folks in neighboring Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan will be able to bring their concealed weapons into the Badger State. The complete list is on the State Justice Department’s Web site, along with a new list of “Frequently Asked Questions” about Wisconsin’s concealed carry law.
Meanwhile, the U-S Senate is considering a bill to create a national concealed weapons law – and all states have would have to recognize permits issued by other states. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is among 600 U-S mayors signing an ad in U-S-A Today urging the Senate not to pass that measure.
Once Wisconsin begins its concealed carry law, Illinois will be the only state not to have one.
