The 17th ranked Marquette Golden Eagles held off a late rally by Norfolk State to win the Paradise Jam holiday tournament at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands Monday night with a 59-57 victory. Marquette routed Norfolk State by 31 over a week ago but this rematch was much tougher. They led by 14 with just over 10 minutes remaining before the Spartans rallied. Jae Crowder's dunk with a minute to go put Marquette on top for good. Darius Johnson-Odom led the Golden Eagles (5-0) with 20 points and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
