MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board has verified enough signatures from the petition submitted by the “Recall Dave Hansen” committee.

Staff verified 17,099 signatures out of 18,872 and are recommending a determination of sufficiency to the board.

The GAB disqualified more than 1,700 people from the recall petition simply because there may not have been a signature, name, a complete address, or a date.

GAB Spokesman Reid Magney says staff still has to review more than 5,500 challenges made by Senator Hansen.  More than 2,300 of those challenges concern people who live outside of Senate District 30.

Those challenges will be ruled on by staff and submitted to the board meeting for final decsion, which Magney expects will May 30th or in early June.
